Jiang Xipei: The Globalizing China Will Unleash More Institutional Dividends

    On April 9, the Third China and Globalization Roundtable Forum, themed as “Globalization in the Crossroad — China’s Opportunities and Challenges of”, was held in Beijing to discuss the countermeasures for China to present “anti-globalization”. Jiang Xipei, founder and Board Chairman of Far East Holding Group and Secretary of the Party Committee, was invited to this Forum, and discussed with Long Yongtu, Chairman of CCG, former Vice Minister of China Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, PRC and former Secretary General of Boao Asia Forum, Chen Qizong, Co-Chairman of CCG and President of Hong Kong Hang Lung Properties, Fu Chengyu, Consultant of CCG and former Chairman of Sinopec Group, Song Zhiping, Chairman of CNBM, Huang Renwei, expert of CCG Academic Expert Committee and Vice Dean of Shanghai Academy of Social Science, Wang Chaoyong, Vice Chairman of CCG and President of China Equity Group, Wang Yaohui, Director of CCG, consultant of State Council and Vice Chairman of Western Returned Scholars Association on “how can Chinese enterprises cope with the challenges of anti-globalization and the opportunities of new globalization”. Zhuang Bin, Chairman of Beijing TrafficData Science and Technology Co., Ltd., also attended this Forum.

Jiang Xipei is Delivering a Speech on the Forum

    According to Jiang Xipei, firstly, the presupposition of globalization at least lies in the high consensus among the major national leaders worldwide. To some extent, the exchange among countries is also the exchange among their leaders. As Donald Trump has been elected as President, we can see entrepreneur is in need. We should have a worldwide horizon. Though Trump is President of America, it is full of difficulties to resort to trade protectionism, which is a totally regression. However, we can understand that because it is very hard to finish international negotiation which sometimes would last for ten or twenty years. The leaders of EU are also distressed for the rule that significant issues can be passed only when 28 members all agree. Therefore, it is more difficult to make all countries in the world reach unanimity.

    Secondly, there are many systems of top-level design around the world, especially in China. If institution dividend can be further released and more institution reforms implemented in supply side, it will stimulate great power of productivity.

    Thirdly, internalization needs to combine domestic affairs with overseas one, product running with capital running. Talent collecting and bonus distribution also need to be considered. Although there are some fluctuations in financial economy, private enterprisers should develop at their advantages to start a business on a most suitable global platform, as well as design a mature system of interest allocation. Only in this way, can an enterprise survive.

The Scene of the Forum

    Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a speech on the Annual Conference of Davos Forum in 2017, proposing a Chinese scheme on promoting economic globalization to the world. This speech demonstrates the resolve and aspiration that China will stick to free trade and globalization, also shows the responsibility and leadership that China has taken in global governance.
