Far East Supports Folk Art and Culture

The opening ceremony of “The First Forum on Inheritance and Development of Chinese Traditional Folk Arts and Crafts” and “2017 Far East Reclusive Island Cup Traditional Folk Arts and Crafts Fair”(named after Far East Holding Group Co., Ltd.) of the 9th China Yixing International Ceramic Culture and Art Festival was held in Yixing Ceramic Museum on November 10. Xu Guoqiang, an investor, Vice Chairman of Supervision Board and CAO of Far East Holding Group, Wang Qin, an investor, and Assistant to Director of Marketing Department of Wuxi Far East Real Estate Co., Ltd., Zhang Yunfei, an investor and Assistant to Director of the Brand Culture Center of the group, and others were invited to attend the opening ceremony.

Wei Min, Chairman of Yixing Federation of Literary and Art Circles, presided over the opening ceremony. He denoted that the holding of “one forum and one fair” on ceramic culture and art was of great significance on the occasion when everyone in China was celebrating the successfully concluded 19th CPC National Congress, and making serious efforts to study and implement the principles from General Secretary Xi Jinping’s major speeches. On behalf of event organizers, he expressed warm welcome and heartfelt gratitude to leaders and guests attending the opening ceremony.

Zhou Zhongping, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Yixing Municipal Committee, Zhang Fuye, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of Academy of Arts & Design of Tsinghua University, Director of World Art History Institute, and former Editor-in-chief of magazine Art&Design, Wang Qin of Far East Real Estate, Shi Juntang, President of Yixing Ceramic Industry Association, and Ren Jianxin, Executive Secretary-General of China National Arts and Crafts Society, delivered opening speeches.

Wang Qin denoted in her speech that traditional folk craft culture is a kind of soft power, which is as important as or even more important than the hard power such as economic development. As creators, disseminators and sharers of culture, we are glad to see that ceramic culture is shining with new lustre. Traditional craft cultural activities have improved our spiritual outlook, enhanced our ideological quality, promoted sound and rapid development of society and economy, and created a good atmosphere for society to inherit traditional arts and crafts.

Adhering to the tenet of “taking ceramic as a medium and art as a tool to make friends, expand exchanges and promote development”, the China Yixing International Ceramic Culture and Art Festival aims to enlarge the popularity of Yixing as a city of ceramic, and create a cultural calling card for the city. More than 200 people from all parts of the country were invited to attend the opening ceremony of “one forum and one fair” of the Ceramic Culture and Art Festival, including experts, professors, artist representatives, and representatives from Yixing’s ceramic circles, painting and calligraphy circles, collection circles, business circles and media circles.
