Profit of Global Marine Electricity Transmission Project 2015-24 Will Reach Nearly 1.5 Trillion Yuan

[Report by cableabc.com] A recent report from American market research institution Navigant Research analyzed the global market of submarine electricity transmission project, which mainly focused on project revenue, technical classification and geographical distribution in 2024.

Submarine power transmission system is increasingly used in the long-distance and short-distance transmission of the interconnection project in seabed, lakes and rivers, while many systems are developing towards high-voltage direct current technology. With the increasing demand of interconnection between regional resources for electricity generation and urban infrastructure, in recent years, the market of submarine electricity transmission project continues to increase.

By report, from 2015 to 2024, the revenue of global submarine electricity transmission project was expected to nearly 230 billion dollars (about 1.5 trillion yuan).

“At present, one of the main driving forces as for submarine cable project is the power grid to connect electricity generation on the sea to land.” The senior research analyst of Navigant Research James McCray showed that, “projects nowadays and in future will mainly be offshore wind plant, but other more especial reproducible resources to generate electricity, such as tidal energy and wave energy would be constituents to generate electricity sometime in future.”

Indicated by this report, submarine electricity transmission project would face lots of international, regional and national supervision, and it would involve hundreds of limitations sometimes. Numerous developers hoped that in the next few years, government could try to realize the filament line handling of permission and approval process.
