According to a global report of clean energy investment aiming at 55 countries in emerging market, China invested US$ 89 billion in clean energy in 2014, and became the largest investment country. It also reflected that China abided by a promise to realize a low carbon future.
As indicated by Climatescope2015, clean energy investment and deploy were calculated according to 0-5 points, Chinese investment got the highest scores in 2014, reaching to 2.29 point. While in 2013, China also ranked first by 2.23 point.
Supported by DFID and USAID, the annual report investigated the clean energy investment and deploys of 55 most important global developing countries.
As declared by this report, China increased 35gw power capacity of renewable energy sources last year, which exceeded the entire capacity in operation of 49 countries in sub-Saharan Africa (in addition to South Africa and Nigeria).
“China continued to play an important role in clean energy revolution, and had great influence not only in emerging markets, but also in the whole world”, indicated by the report.
In addition to China, in the report, there were also other countries ranking in the first 5 places of the list of clean energy investment, namely, Brazil, Chile, South Africa and India.
