On Nov. 25, the first “Global Social Entrepreneurs Forum” (GSEF) was held grandly in Beijing. Kofi Annan, the seventh Secretary General of UN, came to Beijing to attend the Forum and give a speech on the opening ceremony and have a conversation with the Chinese entrepreneurs present. Mr. Jiang Xipei, vice Chairman of China Enterprise Confederation (CEC), Board Chairman and CEO of Far East Holding Group, Co., Ltd., Long Yongtu, the former vice director of Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, former Secretary General of Boao Forum for Asia and CCG, Liu Donghua, Chief Architect of Zhisland, Yang Lan, Board Chairman of Sun Media Group, and Xia Hua, Board Chairman of EVE Group, were invited to the Forum and gave speeches and conversation about spirit of contract and social ecology. Xu Haoran, a director of the Group, also presented the Forum.

Mr. Kofi Annan expressed in his speech that economic development and zero emission were not in a conflicting relation; the two conditions could co-exist. At present, many companies had begun to turn to renewable energy sources for fuel instead of fossil fuels and promote research and development of low-carbon technologies. China had proved with practice that development of solar energy and wind energy could not only promote economic development and increase employment rate but can provide convenience to the rural residents. Mr. Kofi Annan advocated that all the companies, whether big or small, should absorb the sustainable development into their marketing strategy, production process and company value chain, share responsibilities and embrace the brand new era of economy of sustainable development.

In the section of conversation, Jiang Xipei, Long Yongtu, Cheng Jianxin (Board Chairman of Career Engineering) and Fei Fugen (Board Chairman of SUZHOU QC-TECH) had a conversation about the topics of spirit of contract, enterprise transformation, etc. Jiang Xipei expressed that the following factors made difference between success and failure of transformation of an enterprise: correct direction, clear strategy, explicit system, proper investment plan and considerate and comprehensive distribution system. He believed that under the background of mass pioneering and massive innovation, business pioneering would never mean “being a boss” as it used to be traditionally and the system of business pioneering inside the enterprise and business partnership had provided the new routes for business starting.

In the thematic speech, Jiang Xipei shared the plan of innovation and development of the company with the guests present based on the concept of 25 years’ development and operation of Far East Holding Group.

He pointed out that the first principle of a successful company was the clear strategic target and precise development direction. Ten years ago, when most of the companies were struggling to make a choice between “professional” and “diversification”, Far East firmly determined the strategy of “owner+ investment” so that it could eliminate the principal asset businesses of non-smart energy, focus on perfecting the principal businesses and do some investment of the industry selectively to achieve supplementary advantages and mutual development.

Secondly, it’s of essential importance for the long-term development of a company to establish the scientific management system as the protection system. The core systems of Far East included remuneration system, official promotion system and equity incentive system. In addition, “361” performance evaluation system had also been set up in the company, where the first 30% of the best employees would be provided with resources and platforms, the next 60% of the employees in ranking will be encouraged and promoted and the backward employees would be spurred and eliminated.

Thirdly, career, innovation, excellence and wealth would be pushed forward simultaneously. A company needed to create the environment of career pioneering inside. Twenty years ago, Far East established the career partnership system to offer all the employees a the chance to become the shareholders; a company also needed innovation; every company was facing innovation in terms of system, mechanism and management; a company needed to attract customers with the excellent business mode, up to date technologies and excellent quality and services; a company also needed to fight for excellence and produce the best products and services of highest cost performance with the attitude satisfying customers, employees, shareholders, government and the society, the least resources and energy consumption; an entrepreneur should shoulder the duty to, besides operating the company well, lead the employees to get rich together, create more values and make the resources and wealth inheritable.

The Forum lasted for three days, including many forms, such as thematic speech, round table forum and ask-and-answer meeting. The leaders of enterprises from all over the world, the senior management personnel of companies, NGO representatives and famous stars in field of literature and art got together to have a profound and rewarding discussion about the prospect of the real economy under the new economic state of China, the innovation and transformation of business mode and social duties of a company, several social entrepreneurs presenting the Forum made the manifesto together: let’s insist on the triune principle of society, economy and environment, lead the team with social entrepreneurship, explore hard and bring up the company into a social company taking realization of social value as the highest value and realization of social wealth as the most valuable wealth.
