Zhou Dongjiao: Be a Great Worker--Excellent Media Worker

    The closing ceremony of 11th 5.25 Publicity Month Activities for Psychological Health and Life Education and “Emotional Connection and Life Blooms” themed sharing sessions was held in Zhejiang University of Media and Communications on June 6. Professor Yu Youcheng, Deputy Secretary of CPC of Design School, Zhang Fangyuan, Director of Psychological Health and Life Education Center, Li Xueyi, Curator of Wuxi Public Embroidery Art Museum attended this event, Zhou Dongjiao, Investor, Chief Human Resources Officer of Far East Holding Group Co., Ltd., Executive Principal of Far East University and Executive Director of Far East Charitable Foundation, and Kong Qunling, Investor and Assistant Director of Department of Party, Union, Masses and Youth League Affairs was invited to attend this ceremony.

    Proceeding from Far East “three pillar businesses” (industry, education and charity), Zhou Dongjiao introduced Far East Holding Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Far East”) as an enterprise with “ stature, temperature, breadth”. As a mother of a post-90s young employee, she sincerely delivered a speech of How to Become a Great Worker, an Excellent Media Worker; she said that the key for a wonderful life is to make good use of time points in life, meet important people, and form high quality concepts.

    She quoted four works of Mr. Lu Xun, Wandering, Call to Arms, and Dawn Blossoms Plucked at Dusk and Sadness, to describe mentalities of students during four years’ university life, resonating with teachers and students present. The six summarized key points, “direction is more important than method, EQ is more important than IQ, field of vision is more important than experience, appreciation is more important than promotion, learning capacity is more important than education background”, were agreed by all attendees that it is a necessary prescription for students turning into working people and social men.

    She cited a sentence of General Secretary Xi Jinping,”The future China belongs to people with right knowledge, right mindfulness and positive energy.”, Combined with the example that Far East Senior Executives went to Beijing to Learn from Yangming Philosophy Academy and to be a Good Employee of Far East, pointed out that media workers should keep watch society,  point out social problems, uphold justice, publicize good thoughts, enlighten minds and sublimate values; they should win trust by responsibility and seek status by behavior, thus becoming media workers with conscience.

    She pointed out that new economic era is also an era with “emotional economy” and “heart economy”, so media workers should nourish and practice their own hearts; understand and open hearts to others; know and unite hearts with organizations.

It is expected that students present get refined internally and externally, and understand practical affairs for becoming a lookout of era as well as an observer of people's livelihood; fill heart with incorruptibility, enterprise and public-spiritedness for becoming media workers with understanding of human nature.

    She hoped that students cherish school time, read more, read good, become elegant people and energize the future; she hoped they can keep curiosity, modesty and happiness inside, learn to meet practical needs, unite knowledge and actions, turn “knowing, appreciation, action” into “communication, publicity”, and become a media worker with strong learning capacity. In the end, she sent messages to students that: cultivate yourself with great concentration, succeed in a special field of study, live up to time, and harvest the youth; wish China a flourishing media industry.

    Li Xueyi appreciated benefactions of Far East Charitable Foundation for years on behalf of all members of Wuxi Public Embroidery Art Museum that, “We wouldn’t be who we are now without Far East.” When she shared an article of A Roll of Scotch Tape, Half Block of Pineapple, she proudly introduced that even though all students are disabled, they constantly strive to become stronger; by efforts, they won recognition from Suzhou embroidery masters and remarkable praises that the future Chinese masters of embroidery might be generated from them; they are like the chanting dance Just Like You in the same expression, “I am just like you, as strong as you do, going all out for my dream”. She expected that more and more enterprises and individuals with a sense of responsibility, such as Far East, could pay more attention to care for and help disabled people, and keep eyes on inheritance and development of “national intangible cultural heritage”--embroidery.
