Interaction of Teaching and Learning for Further Progress, Inheritance of Traditions for a New Under

    The day September 10 marks the 32nd Teachers’ Day and Far East University held Sharing Session between Newly Appointed and Experienced Lecturers under the theme of “Sharing Your Thoughts as Lecturers.” Seven newly appointed and experienced teachers of Far East University were invited to have discussions focusing on “Growth and Vision of Lecturers” and “Lay Equal Emphasis on Academic Performance and Moral Conduct.” Lecturer representatives of Far East University joined the session and Ren Lulu, assistant dean of School of Management, Far East University acted as moderator for the session.

    Ren Lulu introduced lecturers’ team of Far East University. Since the establishment of Far East University, 160 lecturers have been appointed. They offer guidance and instruction during their spare time and provide strong support to talents training and seek strategic development for Far East Holding Group. Please accept our sincere gratitude for your dedication and hard work.

    Later, seven lecturers responsible for production, information, administration, marketing shared their path of growth and development as well as their hope and visions for Far East University:

    Lecturers talked at the session:  


Mei Tingdi (Investor, Far East Holding Group Smarter Energy Co., Ltd., abbreviated as Smarter Energy, stock code: 600869, senior consultant and intermediate lecture of Far East University)

  “Lecturers are responsible for skills training of both newly appointed and experienced staff and are supposed to pass on their knowledge to green hands. To broaden staff’s vision, enrich their thoughts and improve their skills, we need to share with them our experience and concepts. Staff members’ motivation can be ignited by teachers’ instructions and deeds and we set examples for staff members. ”

“Under the concept of building ‘Learning Enterprise’, I wish Far East University could attract more and more competent lecturers to pass on knowledge and cultivate the best staff for Far East Holding Group.”


Xu Mao (Head of UHV Cable Factory of Smarter Energy and primary lecturer of Far East University)

    “As a hands-on lecturer, before teaching others, we should first engage in practice, keep a record of our practice and analyze the whole process, in order to present to others tangible and substantial teaching content. ”

    “We should make efforts to adjust external documents for internal use and serve training courses so as to combine the knowledge with cable production. Notably, with respect to sand table practice for shift leaders, external resources shall be used for internal training. ”


Li Lin (Senior Director of Quality Management, Smarter Energy, primary lecturer of Far East University)

    “Lecturing is a very good way to learn more knowledge. As the saying goes, there is synergy between teaching and learning. In the process of sharing with others, we can acquire deeper understanding about knowledge. To have a good command of certain knowledge, we must share with and learn from each other. ”

    “We should combine the training course of Far East University with departmental training so that corporate university, management and learning can be integrated.”


Qin Deqiang (Process technician of MV Cable Factory of Smarter Energy, primary lecturer of Far East University)

    “Lecturer plays a very important role and is able to pass on thoughts and ideas to staff members and influence their behaviors. By spreading cultural thoughts to staff at different levels, corporate culture could be identified by staff. ”

    “Exchange and sharing mechanism should be set up including technicians and management experts because their experience, ideas and concepts could be viewed as a treasure for Far East Holding Group. The essence of their experience and thoughts could be used to guide the work of other staff members. ”

Newly-certified lecturers:


Li Yunxing (Director of IT Application Service Department of Far East Holding Group, primary lecturer of Far East University)

    “The key to survive and build a century-long enterprise lies in talent cultivation. On one hand, we should attract talents from outside; on the other hand, efforts should be underway to cultivate corporate talents. The latter is more critical. Far East University shoulders the mission to cultivate talents for Far East Holding Group.”

    “Training should be combined with operation and management and should tackle the difficulties occurred in management so it should be problem-solving oriented. External training should focus on broadening horizon and internal training should attach importance to knowledge digestion and absorption. Only by doing this can we ensure that knowledge is learned for application.”


Kang Na (Trainee of the First Training Session, Relay 100, system commissioner of President’s Work Department, primary lecturer of Far East University )

    “The process of sharing is not only telling stories to others but also a process to review what we have learned. The growth and development of lecturers should be based on the work of their department. By doing this, we can effectively integrate and apply performance results. ”

    “The development and design of lecturer’s brand course, on one hand, is based on individual expertise; on the other hand, it is based on the demands of staff members and their difficulties. These two factors should be integrated in order to bring win-win outcomes.”

 

Gu Qian (Shift supervisor of High-end Equipment Cable Factory of Smarter Energy, primary lecturer of Far East University)

    “As a newly-appointed lecturer, on one hand, I should learn more theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills; on the other hand, through resources pool platform of Far East Holding Group, I will exchange ideas with others and draw upon the strengths of others in order to realize common progress.”

    “It is my hope that the rank of lecturers of Far East University could be further expanded. We should strive for perfection, follow good experience and refined tradition, aim to overcome shortcomings and fill the gaps, and contribute to the prosperous development of Far East Holding Group.”

    Wu Qingfeng, a lecturer representative, put forward new requirements toward the development Far East University, hoping Far East University to offer more professional training courses and more practical marketing skills to serve marketing efforts of Far East Holding Group.

    Ren Lulu said, constructive ideas and suggestion raised by newly-appointed and experienced lecturers as well as lecturer representatives would be reported to regular president meeting of Far East University. System modification and project implementation will be made as follow-up efforts.

    Activities held to mark Teachers’ Day also included “souvenirs presenting ceremony to excellent lecturers” in honor of their efforts and hard work. “Letter of thanks to express gratitude to lecturers” was also one of the activities. These activities are organized to elevate Far East University’s lecturers’ sense of honor and sense of mission. This, finally, will help to carry out the concept of “Lay Equal Emphasis on Academic Performance and Moral Conduct”, which will gather the strength to achieve strategic target in 2020.
